Bridal Shower - The Fickle Pickle

My sister threw a shower for my here in Atlanta last weekend and I wanted to share the pictures!

The shower was held in Historic Roswell at the cutest place on earth - The Fickle Pickle. My sister, 9 months and ready to deliver my 3rd neice, drove all the way from North Carolina for the event.

The fried pickles were so good!

It was a small shower, but friends from work, family, and good friends were all there.

We played this game about how well the groom knew the bride. Not surprisingly he got all but 2 questions right. He's the sensitive guy that always worries about me and wants everything to be right - that's why I love him!

When the question came up, Where does the groom think the bride wants to live my neice yelled out, "I know! A Castle!!" She was correct. I would love to live in a castle. ;-)

(Color of the day - purple)

We ate amazing southern food, drank sweat peach tea, and then opened presents and had desert - except I forgot to get some. :-(

My sister told stories of having babies - she's had 5 - and everyone was shocked at her home-birth wonders. They all want her to come and be there when they have kids. She knows a lot about being preggars! Not me, not yet, and not for a while!

Her mama better watch out! Look at those eyes! I love my niece; she'll be the cutest flower girl ever!

Sisters!

Shane's stepmom came all the way from Florida for the shower and I am so happy she was able to be there!!

We had an amazing day that day! Thanks to my sister and mom who helped put it all together and everyone else who came! I love you!!

Wedding Crashers??

Ok maybe I'm just hearing this for the first time, but I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about people crashing weddings. I thought that was just uninvited guest who come and eat a $100 meal and drink on ur tab. I am dreading the "extras" that might show up, but not because I thought that they may be stealing the gifts!?

When I first heard them say it I thought there's no way people are really showing up at weddings and having the guts to actually steal gifts, but they were talking about it on the radio and sure enough like 20 listeners called in to say they had been stolen from on their wedding day!

I'm not talking about ghetto weddings, I'm talking sophistacted platinum weddings. One bride reported thousands in stolen cash. Seriously? You would think it's the hired help right? No! It's the guests!

Bride's were calling in and saying they had hired security to man the gift table! I would hate to have to do that!! How tacky!? So now I'm really nervous! Not because I feel like our guests are going to snatch and run, but what if someone comes that I'm not expecting (as a date) and feels the need for a five finger discount?

Thankfully our wedding and reception is at a gated resort so only the guest list will be allowed to drive in with the guest that they name before coming to the wedding. As for me, I think I'm going to my best to just not worry about this craziness, but I bet you my mom's going to keep one eye out at all times. ;-) Watch out!

Nola: Part 3

Day 2 in Nola

We had brunch the next morning at a local favorite - no idea what the name was. My morning after favorite...dr. pepper.. and I was the only one.

After brunch, the Monteleone rooftop pool.

The pool was so relaxing, and the sun was so much warmer up there. The view...incredible!

We soaked up the rays for a while before we headed off to our "fitness" class. Polerotica!

Looks so much easier than it is!

After working up an appetite we headed over to ACME oyster bar - which by the way has the most amazing charbroiled oysters, which might I add, are much larger than the raw oysters.

Then we headed out for our last night.

Even Richard had a great night out and picked up a few articles of clothing, including that spiffy Tulane hat he's wearing. He went everywhere with us that weekend.

(Richard and Wanda - his GF. )

I am so blessed to have such amazing friends that planned this weekend out!!! We had one of the best times of our life and I will never forget it! Thanks ladies! I love you all!

Nola: Part 2

Upon arriving at the Hotel Monteleone, we found the room decorated with gift bags, balloons, and Richard...

Aren't those rooms incredible? Love that place!! (More on Richard Later) We got ready for our first night out and hit the road...wearing really big heels. BAD IDEA! Trust me if you ever go to New Orleans do NOT wear heels.

First stop - "Hand Grenades" - a Big Easy must!

They were soooo good! Try em if you go there.

Then we went to eat dinner at the Gumbo Shop. We asked our waitress what her favorite shot was...to which she replied, "Well....uhhh.... an Espresso shot." ?!?!What?!?!  She said that she promised God if the Saints won the Super Bowl last year then she wouldn't drink for a year.... Ok... I guess I can respect that???  Really?

After dinner we were off again in search of a hurricanes at Pat O Brien's.

And then we found them! So good!! I was super excited!

We I made friends with fellow celebrators...this girl was celebrating her 21st...and the one below...her wedding... which was 20 minutes before this photo...

Trust me I wasn't touching her at all. I was trying to show my ring and that I too was going to be a bride. Came out looking much worse!!

Can I just say it was a little humid+hot in Nola! Perfect weather for my hair which took FOREVER to curl. ;-)

Stay tuned for tomorrow...Day 2 (The End). Sorry I can't finish in one post, but I'm so exhausted with way too much to do!! Love ya'll!
