Shoes Shoes Shoes

I finally found the perfect pair of heels for the wedding. They aren't too short, tall, or heavy and they are exactly what I was looking for. So without further a due... the perfect wedding shoe (for me) found here.
I am SO glad to have that detail out of the way!! :-) They were just the color I was looking for.

And now a preview of my "Pumpkin Post"

Read about this little guy and all his new words at my sister's blog here.

Happy Fall!! 17 days till the wedding!!

Did-It-Myself Wedding Decor

I have no idea how I am posting on my blog right now given the intense state of nervous anxiety I am in with the wedding being only 3 weeks away. Less than that! However, I decided to share a little DIY project I have been working on to go with the "favor" table.

To spruce up the favor bags I made monogrammed favor tags using some Martha Stewart products I am so proud to own.

Items needed for project:

Martha Stewart Circle Cutter
Heavy Paper
Printed Paper
Colored Ribbon
Martha Stewart DIY Stamp kit.
Color Block stamp ink
(All of these items I found at Michaels and used 40% - 50% off coupons to purchase the circle cutter, and DIY stamp kit.)

First I used the circle cutter to make circles just a little bigger than my stamp.  I cut them out on a plastic cutting board - but I would suggest using a wooden cutting board.

I then used the monogrammed stamp to personalize my little circles. I used a stamp with a vine around the edges, but there are a couple to choose from.

I used a vintage textile pattern from a book I purchased to print this design on heavy paper. Then I cut circles a little larger than my first circle. I glued the smaller one on top and waited for it to dry.

After the glue dried, I punched a small teardrop hole in the top and tied a green ribbon around it so that I could secure it to one of the favor bags.

Since I am marrying a baseball player we are appropriately having peanuts and cracker jacks as two of our favors as well as Hershey kisses and personalized Hershey bars - in honor of our adopted dog - Hershey.

I turned this...

Into this...

Using some regular printer paper (with my textile template) and a little glue. Wondering where I got this super cute vintage pattern? I found this book in a little store in Nashville called Social Graces. If you are ever in the area it is definitely worth the stop. The book I purchased is called the Repro Depot by Djerba Goldfinger. When you buy the book it comes with a CD that has all of the patterns for you to use. I paid $25 for it, but it looks like you can get it for just a couple dollars on Amazon.

Dear Wedding,
Can i please have my life back so I can post on my blog more???

Florida - My home sweet home

And now I'll reminisce about my younger years - days and nights spent on the Island - where life seemed so much slower, calmer, and with a lot less bills.

My friends and I took this opportunity after the shower to go back to 2004 and be teenagers again. Coming home after school, going out on the boat, watching the sun set, and then relaxing/taking naps until dinner was ready.

Four of my bridesmaids.

My parents...

My dad feeds the catfish everyday, so when you start throwing any food in the water 30 or more fish all come up at once.

Love is in the air...

What is up with all the rainbows I keep seeing?

This guy has lived at my parents house for over 10 years and he is a welcomed friend because he is an endangered Gopher turtle.

And because I can't get enough of the sunsets in Florida....

The Florida Shower

I had so much fun last weekend in Florida I could hardly catch up on sleep even through this weekend. My lovely sister n law and her mom threw a shower for me and hosted it at my parents house. The invitations to this shower said, "She took the bait and he lured her in" in honor or our love of fishing and the fact that he proposed on a boat in the middle of the lake. So, I appropriately wore my "fish" skirt from Anthropologie.

We ate brunch, open gifts and enjoyed the view of the water. The weather was perfect that day! (A little humid - as you can tell from my hair - another reason I'm so thankful to be living in GA with a little less humidity ;-), but nevertheless beautiful skies and a peaceful atmosphere. I felt right at home.

My nephew enjoying the party before he had to leave with daddy and grandpa. And let me tell you that boy can eat!

A card my Aunt made - I'd love to have time to make cards! It was so special. There's a big "R" on it for our last name. Well my soon-to-be last name.

I love whiteware! I really cannot get enough of it!

My soon to be Mother-n-law and her mother-n-law.

My grandma - who got on to me several times for my bangs being in my face.. hehe.

My mom - whom I look nothing a like. I'm a product of the milk man.... and his wife.

Maid of Honor - and the view.

 More whiteware!!

What a great bridesmaid collecting up all the bows to make one big one for the rehearsal. I love ya Chloe'!

I had such a great time in Florida and I can't wait to share more of our weekend after the shower. Big thanks to my sister n law/ good friend and her mom + my mom for helping to make this a special memory and great day for me and everyone who came! Love you all lots!
